Ms. Peris Muthoni Kimani is a distinguished career officer with an extensive service record spanning thirty-nine (39) years in the National Police Service. .
Biography
Her law enforcement journey began in 1983 when she joined Kiganjo Police College shortly after completing her O-levels rising through the ranks to retire as Assistant Inspector General (AIG) in 2022. Ms. Kimani served in numerouscritical leadership roles including Director of Public Complaints at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Division Criminal Investigations Officer (Lang’ata), Officer-in-Charge at Ruaraka and Karuri Police Stations, and Deputy Provincial Criminal Investigations Officer at Kenya Railways, among others.
Ms. Kimani holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology from Presbyterian University of East Africa and a Diploma in Humanitarian Diplomacy. She has also undertaken specialized training locally and internationally in areas such as international cooperation in criminal matters, counterterrorism, crime management, and strategic leadership.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, she is an active member of several associations including the Professional Criminologists Association of Kenya and the Retired Police Officers National Executive Council.
Her outstanding service has been recognized through several national honors, including the Moran of the Burning Spear (MBS) in 2021, the Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) in 2010, and a Certificate of Recognition from the Kenya Revenue Authority for exemplary service in revenue protection.
