Dr. Amani Yuda Komora is a distinguished Human Resource professional with over three decades of experience in leadership, governance and public administration.
He has served in senior leadership roles including; Vice Chairperson of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (2018–2024), where he provided strategic leadership and governance in setting and reviewing remuneration and benefits for all state and public officers, a critical role in Kenya’s fiscal management. Prior to this, he was the General Manager of Human Resources and Administration at the Kenya Ports Authority (2012–2018), leading the full spectrum of Human Resource functions, and overseeing administration, talent management and organizational development of the state corporation.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Komora held senior leadership role at the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission (2004–2011) as Manager of Human Resource where he developed and implemented HR strategies to support the commission’s critical mandate of fighting corruption. Dr. Komora also previously worked at the Kenya Revenue Authority as Senior Assistant Commissioner in charge of Human Resource and Integrity Assurance holding a dual role managing human capital while spearheading integrity assurance programs, crucial for institutional credibility and performance. He began his professional journey at the East African Wildlife Society, focusing on conservation and community projects.
Dr. Komora holds a Doctorate in Philosophy (PhD) and Master of Science in Human Resource Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology/Sociology from the University of Nairobi. He is also a Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP-K) and holds a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management from the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
He is an active member of professional and community institutions, having served on the Governing Council of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM), a member of the College of Human Resource Management Alumni Association and other community boards.
In recognition of his service, he was awarded the Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS) in 2022 and conferred as a Fellow of the Institute of Human Resource Management (FIHRM) in 2025.
