The National Police Service Commission conducted public participation forums in 17 regions countrywide to collect views of stakeholders and members of the public on the Draft Recruitment and Appointment Regulations, 2025.
These proposed regulations seek to streamline the framework for the recruitment of members of the Service, promote transparency and ensure merit-based selection in the recruitment process.
The forums were spearheaded by Commissioners Edwin Cheluget, Prof. Collette Suda, Benjamin Imai, Peris Muthoni, alongside the Commission Secretary/Chief Executive Officer Peter Leley and senior management staff from the Secretariat. They provided a platform for stakeholders and members of the public to review and submit their views and comments on the draft regulations, which will be duly considered in the finalization of the framework.
The Commission wishes to express its appreciation to all stakeholders who participated in the exercise and assures them of its commitment to taking their input into account in finalizing the regulations.
Section 28 of the National Police Service Commission Act empowers the Commission to formulate regulations aimed at enhancing the effective discharge of its constitutional mandate.
