The Commission Chairperson and Commissioners joined H.E. President William Samoei Ruto and other national leaders at the National Police College Main Campus, Kiganjo, for the Passing-Out Parade of newly trained police recruits.
The ceremony marked the culmination of an intensive training programme designed to equip the recruits with the knowledge, skills, discipline and professional values required to effectively serve within the National Police Service (NPS).
The occasion was a significant milestone for the graduating recruits, their families and the National Police Service, as more than 6,000 newly trained officers completed their training and prepared to take up their responsibilities in different parts of the country.
Their graduation marks an important transition from training to active service and reflects the continued efforts to build a professional, disciplined, responsive and service-oriented National Police Service.
The NPSC leadership congratulated the graduating recruits on successfully completing their training and urged them to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, discipline and respect for human rights as they embark on their careers.
The Commission emphasized that effective policing requires not only operational preparedness, but also a strong commitment to public service, accountability and the protection of the rights and freedoms of all Kenyans. The new officers were encouraged to remain guided by the values and principles of the National Police Service and to place the interests, safety and security of the public at the centre of their duties.
Launch of a Modern Gym Facility
The Passing-Out Parade also provided an opportunity to launch a modern gym facility at the National Police College Main Campus, Kiganjo.
The new facility represents a significant investment in the physical fitness, wellness and welfare of police officers and trainees. Given the demanding nature of police work, physical fitness is an essential component of operational preparedness and effective service delivery.
The modern gym will provide officers and trainees with improved facilities to maintain and enhance their physical fitness, strength and endurance while promoting a culture of health and wellness within the National Police Service.
The facility also underscores the importance of investing in the welfare and professional development of police officers. A physically fit, mentally prepared and well-supported workforce is essential to ensuring that officers are capable of responding effectively to the diverse and evolving security needs of the country.
The launch of the facility therefore adds to the infrastructure supporting police training at Kiganjo and complements ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of training and improve the overall environment in which officers are prepared for service.
